MultiFLEX applications in Flow Cytometry

Flow Cytometry is a widely used technology that enables researchers to rapidly characterize thousands of individual cells/particles. Some Flow Cytometers and cell sorters, have the ability of physically separate and purify different populations of cells/particles from a mixture for further characterizations.
 
Recently, technology companies have developed new instruments with dramatically extended range, efficiency, and capabilities. The role of Cytometry Share Resource Labs/Core Facilities has moved beyond the simple provision of technical services to making complex experiments possible, by providing scientific and technological support for implementing advanced high-dimensional approaches in experimentation and by creating a mechanism for acquisition of new cytometry methodologies. It is also important to highlight the indisputable need for the mechanism of education that will provide a continuous opportunity to learn new skills in this field.
 
When purchasing a Flow Cytometer, the lab manager needs to identify instruments with high performance and sensibility, easy to use and flexible enough to cover the actual needs of their diverse users.
 
During this webinar, several applications in many different scientific fields (human and veterinary medicine, agriculture, marine biology, food science and nanotechnology) will be used to explain why sensitivity and flexibility is so relevant, but more importantly to have a wide vision of your experiment when approaching flow cytometry.
 
Learning objectives:
 
The main objective for day one is to make participants aware of how simple is to perform a successful flow cytometry assay by following some basic rules and optimising the instruments. We will also learn how simple but necessary is to perform this optimization in the CytoFLEX platform (analysers and sorters).
 
Although one of the most common applications of cytometry is immunology, we will navigate through many kinds of applications, from microbiology to agriculture, from plants to nanoparticles, from cells in culture to extracellular vesicles. In summary, the objective is to make sure participants have an open mind when they are facing this technology.
 
Finally, it is important to make participants aware of the advances of the technology, that companies are developing tools and accessories based on their feedback to make their live easier. But they also need to be updated. Training courses, workshops, webinars allow us to be updated.
